Hydraulic cylinder overhaul & repairs

We have been overhauling Fuchs vehicle hoists for over 20 years now for the Port of Felixstowe and Harwich Int Port.

We can carry out this overhaul in-situ, keeping customer downtime to a minimum and usually carry out full inner/outer cylinder replacement, liner and re-seal within 4 hours.

Bespoke system designs and modifications

Here we have designed and implemented a new safety system to a paper clamp truck.

This is to ensure, regardless of the conditions that any load is automatically clamped with adequate pressure to ensure stability and eliminate slippage.

The customer and their client was so happy with this mod they have decided to carry this out not only on their fleet but nationwide too.

Hiab won't fit under a bridge?.............no problem.

This customer had the awkward choice-lose a lucrative contract or adapt to the changing  surroundings and needs of their client.

Here we were able to meet their needs when it come to requiring their Hiab crane to be able to fold down to avoid low bridges on the river ways.

Utilising newly installed Double acting cylinders and over-center valves, the hydraulics were able to lift and lower the crane with ease nice and smoothly and safely.

Fuel delivery system overhaul

Our client came to us with the requirement to design and overhaul their Fuel delivery system.

For over 50 years, this single pump & pipework (pictured left) delivered millions of litres of fuel to locos that travelled the length of the country but it was only a matter of time a failure would bring the operation to a costly hault.

The remit was to design a 'redundant' system that could be switched over at a moments notice should a pump go down or require planned maintenance.

2 x 350lpm pumps were situated in the existing pump house area and pipework installed (pic right)

We carry out all this work ourselves and only use sub-contractors to connect the electrics to the pumps.

We also installed an auto cut-off system to ensure that once fuel transfer was complete it would automatically shut off the pump.

The whole system came in under budget and in the allotted time frame.

From idea conception to signing off a project, we really do cover the whole process, unlike other companies that sub the work out to other contractors that adds valuable time and cost to a project.
